  5. EZSET is for anyone who's seen those esoteric-looking escape codes in
  6. their printer's manual and wondered how to make them "do their stuff"
  7. without having it transparently (or opaquely, more like) handled for them
  8. by an application. EZSET solves that problem, and is fascinating to use
  9. besides, by enabling the user to enter codes in any of the formats
  10. commonly used -- as "string literal" characters, or as decimal and
  11. hexadecimal numbers -- and have EZSET interpret each correctly and
  12. assemble them all automatically into a named string, saved into a
  13. permanent string library. Any string can then be sent to a printer by
  14. simply running EZSET on the command line along with the string name.
